About
DotNet Brief is an independent news site for professional .NET developers. It tracks official announcements about .NET, C#, ASP.NET Core, Entity Framework Core, Azure, SQL Server, Visual Studio, NuGet and AI in the .NET ecosystem, and explains what each change means in practice.
How stories are produced
New items are discovered automatically from official feeds and APIs published by Microsoft and the .NET project on GitHub. Each story is written from that official source in a consistent structure, and must pass automated checks for accuracy, completeness, duplication and copying before it can be published. Security advisories and breaking changes are reviewed by a person before publication. Read the full editorial and sourcing policy.
What we add
- A plain-language summary of what changed, kept separate from our analysis.
- Why the change matters, who should care, and practical upgrade considerations.
- Version numbers and dates taken from official metadata, with links to the original announcement and documentation.
